How To Grow Your Business Through Internet Marketing Sales

Internet marketing sales can make a huge difference to your business. This is true whether you are selling digital information products or hard physical goods, and is true no matter what the size of the market. Even if you are a small service business operating in a very small local area, you will still benefit greatly from a presence on the Internet. The amount of sales you can make, provided you have the infrastructure in place to cope with them, will depend entirely on the quality of your presentation and how well it converts, and how much traffic you can drive to it.

Setting up your presentation is something you will want to take your time over. Any traffic which you drive to an ineffective presentation is a waste of time and money. People who are not familiar with Internet marketing often find it hard to believe just how much of a difference can be made by one simple change to a sales page. The headline is the most important factor to get right, but even a change in something so seemingly insignificant as a background color can have a dramatic effect on conversion rate.

To give yourself the best possible chance of increased Internet marketing sales, you need to be able to set up an effective presentation, and then test the results of other presentations against it. These alternatives will just have one item changed, so that it is a totally objective test of whether that change improves results or whether it does not. If it does, then the changed presentation becomes the new “control”, and other changes are then tested against that. This process needs to continue until you have discovered the optimum presentation for conversion rates.

Once your basic presentation has been formulated, you need to be able to drive traffic to it to see how it converts. The fastest and easiest method is to use pay per click advertising. This advertising is not cheap, and if you are in a very competitive market it may not even be feasible for you. You also need to understand how the system works, otherwise you can be paying a lot of money for worthless clicks, such as click based on keywords such as “free”.

The major alternative is article marketing. This is often called a “free” traffic generation method, but even if you write the articles yourself it is still taking up time you could be spending on something else. In reality, you need to pay a writer to produce and submit these articles, so it is a direct comparison between the returns you get from this, and the returns you get from spending the same money on pay per click. Article marketing can, however, be a more consistent long term method of making Internet marketing sales.
